  3. The following modifications have been made since version 1.0.
  4. Many thanks to all who e-mailed with problems or suggestions.
  5.  
  6. Ñ Some large payoffs were causing the error message ╥-8, 2╙
  7.    or ╥-8,7.╙  This error has been fixed.
  8. Ñ Many people complained that the game didn╒t handle large
  9.    numbers of chips well, especially in games with little room
  10.    for chips (i.e., blackjack).  Four new high denominations of
  11.    chip have been added to solve this problem.  The deposit and
  12.    table limits have not been changed╤otherwise the problem
  13.    would just return with higher chip denominations.
  14. Ñ Craps now supports ╥place╙ bets on point numbers.  You can
  15.    only place ╥to win╙╤perhaps ╥to lose╙ and other types of
  16.    place bet offered at some casinos will be made available in
  17.    a future version.
  18. Ñ If you quit the program with an active stake, the stake will
  19.    still be active when you launch the application later.  Some
  20.    people didn╒t like having to go to the bank at the beginning of
  21.    every session.
  22. Ñ The B/W mode didn╒t work at all due to a minor bug.  It╒s fixed
  23.    now.  This mode is really intended only for the old Mac SE or
  24.    similar type, but if you happen to have a monitor that won╒t do
  25.    256 colors, you can use it.
  26. Ñ The words ╥six╙ and ╥nine╙ are spelled out on the craps layout.
  27.    More like a real casino that way.
  28. Ñ The way the ball bounces around in roulette has been slightly
  29.    improved.  The old way did some funky things every now and
  30.    then that a ball shouldn╒t be able to do.
  31. Ñ A 6-player poker game is now an option.
  32. Ñ Whooops.  Five-card stud was totally wrong!  The cards that
  33.    should have been up were down, and vice-versa.  This has been
  34.    corrected.
  35. Ñ In both five-card stud and seven-card stud, the leader of every
  36.    betting round is now the player with the highest hand showing,
  37.    and leader of the first betting round must bet.  (As you can
  38.    probably tell, I╒m not a regular poker player.)
  39. Ñ The playing speed is now remembered separately for each of
  40.    the six games, and stays when you quit the program.
  41. Ñ In blackjack, you can force the dealer to begin by clicking in
  42.    the card area on the right, if you don╒t want to sit through the
  43.    usual 3-second delay.
  44. Ñ In roulette and keno, you can skip rapidly through the lengthy
  45.    animations by clicking the mouse.
  46. Ñ You can now explode a condensed stack of chips into as many
  47.    chips as will fit in a stack, by shift-clicking it.  (A condensed
  48.    stack is one that cannot be compressed any further.)  Previously,
  49.    the only way to get large amounts of change was by breaking up
  50.    one chip at a time.
  51. Ñ The manual files have been updated to incorporate all of these
  52.    changes.

  54. After releasing version 1.0, we received many e-mail messages
  55. like this:  ╥I would have registered, but I found a bug,╙ or ╥I
  56. would have registered, but there was a feature missing that I want.╙
  57. Please do not let little things like this prevent you from
  58. registering.  We really need the money, and we pride ourselves on
  59. being very responsive to reasonable requests.
